Hillary Clinton apparently has an affinity for carpets.
According to the latest batch of her emails released by the State Department Tuesday, Clinton, as secretary of state, contacted an aide and asked for the agency’s China protocol manager to obtain photos of the carpets she saw in China’s Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
On Dec. 18, 2009, Clinton sent an email to Chief of Protocol of the United States Capricia Marshall titled, “Don't laugh.”
Clinton asked: “Can you contact your protocol friend in China and ask him if I could get photos of the carpets of the rooms I met in w POTUS during the recent trip? I loved their designs and the way they appeared carved. Any chance we can get this?”
“Sorry which building was that? The hotel?” asked Marshall.
Clinton told her she saw the carpets in China’s Great Hall.
The State Department Tuesday released about 3,000 pages of Clinton’s emails in compliance with a court order. It was the second batch to be made public, with the first containing about 850 pages.
Clinton has faced heavy criticism for her use of a personal email server to conduct government business.
