Manuel Perez-Vasquez, an illegal immigrant, is accused of hitting a mother and children in their car.

An illegal alien who was arrested in connection with a car crash that left two young children injured has been deported from America on six prior occasions, law-enforcement authorities found.

Manuel Perez-Vasquez, 29, was arrested Saturday after a car wreck near Maricopa, Arizona, that resulted in injuries. Turns out, he has a past that includes multiple deportations back to Mexico, various media reported. He also reportedly admitted to being under the influence of drugs – marijuana – at the time of crash, and has been charged with driving while impaired and with fleeing the scene of a crash, KPHO reported.

Sheriff’s deputies say Perez-Vasquez drove head-on in the opposing lane of traffic on a road in the town about 30 miles south of Phoenix, crashing a Ford SUV into a vehicle carrying a mother and her two children.

“She sees a car coming head on … so she immediately pulls over as far as she could off the side of the road and this car still comes and sideswipes [her]… totaling her car,” Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told the TV station.

A witness said Perez-Vasquez wasn’t the only person to have fled the scene and that there were several other occupants traveling with him in the vehicle.

“While the mother of the other vehicle was trying to help her children that were injured in the crash, Perez and his passenger were more concerned with running from the scene, which may have been to hide drugs or other evidence,” Babeu said, KTVK reported.

Among the injured: A 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old, both of whom were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Babeu told Fox10 in Phoenix he did not plan to immediately release the suspect into federal custody.

The sheriff said he planned to prosecute Perez-Vasquez and have him serve time in the county if convicted, before turning him over to federal authorities.

“Likely all [federal authorities] are going to do is send him back to Mexico and he’s likely to return again, and so this is the problem we have, and people are scratching their heads. It appears there are no consequences for breaking immigration law,” Babeu said.

The crash comes at a time when billionaire Donald Trump has been fielding attacks from the media, from the left and from others within his own Republican Party for comments he made while announcing his run for the White House that accused Mexico of sending “rapists” and other criminals across the border into America.

For this, Trump has lost business with Univision and NBC, two companies that broadcast the beauty pageant he partly owns, as well as with ESPN and NASCAR, as WND previously reported. Both those latter two outfits said they were going to refuse to rent Trump facilities for key functions. Macy’s, too, has severed ties with Trump and announced its stores would no longer carry his clothing line.

Occupy Democrats, meanwhile, have made a video of a Mexican day laborer blasting Trump’s position on illegal immigration, which includes the building of a border fence. The logic behind the video? To show how “devastating” the billionaire’s political rhetoric is to his own campaign, and ostensibly, to silence his political views.

In the video, the day laborer says, Red Alert Politics said: “Donald Trump? That son of a gun who says we’re all thieves? Look, bastard, how we rape … these stakes.”

He is then seen in the video taking a sledgehammer to some wood stakes.

The worker goes on: “How we work ourselves to death just to eat. I make $1,100 a week, and the government takes $350 to feed your lazy, unemployed drug addicts. Look at these guys, busting their butts in the sun. It’s 107 degrees Fahrenheit, and it was 115 degrees earlier. Look at these guys, flooring a mile a minute. What rapists and criminals?”

The video may not have the intended damaging effect on Trump’s political message, however.

As Red Alert Politics pointed: There are plenty of Americans who have been injured or killed by illegal immigrants – as Trump has steadfastly claimed. And the latest, involving the shooting death of a 32-year-old woman, Kate Steinle, walking a San Francisco pier with her father, as WND previously reported, is still fresh on the minds of most U.S. voters.

Trump said Friday the seemingly random killing of the innocent woman was even more proof of  why voters should send him to the White House.

“This senseless and totally preventable act of violence committed by an illegal immigrant is yet another example of why we must secure our border immediately,” Trump said in a statement Friday. “This is an absolutely disgraceful situation and I am the only one that can fix it. Nobody else has the guts to even talk about it. That won’t happen if I become president.”

Francisco Sanchez, 45, a repeat felon who had been deported five times to Mexico, has been charged with Steinle’s shooting death. Law enforcement officials told CNN Sanchez was released by the San Francisco sheriff’s department despite a request from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for an immigration detainer.

“NBC Nightly News” used its Monday night coverage of Steinle’s murder to blast Trump as “the new Todd Akin” for having “seized upon” the story to promote his stance on illegal immigration as the GOP is “desperate to win Latino voters,” reported Newsbusters.

Anchor Lester Holt said Trump “quickly seized upon” the fact that Sanchez “is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico” and “has given new fuel to a particularly bitter debate going on in this country about illegal immigration.”

“Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd declared that, in reference to 2012 Missouri Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin, some “Republicans who are worried that Donald Trump is going to be the new Todd Akin.” From there, the newsman explained the comparison:

“Todd Akin was that Senate candidate in 2012 who said “legitimate rape” and sorta questioned what rape really was. Well, that Trump’s name becomes synonymous for Democrats a year from now to be able to say Republican Party, they don’t like Hispanics. All we have to do is point to Donald Trump. So, but the reason more aren’t speaking out, they’re afraid of resting into tangled – a mud pit with Donald Trump because Trump has no shame.”
