Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton's stalwart front may have suffered a few cracks during a campaign stop in Las Vegas, after a Fox News journalist pressed her about her reportedly wiped email server and she retorted, in obvious discomfort: "What, like with a cloth or something?"
Ed Henry with Fox News posed the questions to Clinton while she was at the podium for a nationally televised press conference – and it wasn't the former secretary of state's greatest political moment. After offering several awkwardly handled responses to numerous questions fired by Fox, Clinton finally walked off the stage and shut down the conference.
Her main mantra was insisting the entire email scandal was unjustified.
"What I did was legally permitted, number one, first and foremost," Clinton said, in reply to Henry's questions about her private email server, of which FBI officials just concluded seemed the target of an "attempt" to wipe clean.
She also said she already went through a "painstaking process" and turned over all her work-related emails, and that the remaining personal emails were just that – personal and private.
Henry then asked her directly if the server had been wiped clean, and Clinton said: "What, like with a cloth or something?"
She said: "I don't know how it works digitally at all," a clip of the exchange showed.
Shortly after Henry's persistent questioning, Clinton shut down the conference and walked from the podium, saying: "Nobody talks to me about [this matter] except for you guys."
