Is Planned Parenthood cutting the beating hearts out of living babies to sell the organs to biomedical companies?
It's quite possible, according to a world-renowned biomedical scientist who helped the Center for Medical Progress, or CMP, prepare for its undercover investigation exposing Planned Parenthood and its business of harvesting body parts of unborn babies and selling the parts for profit.
Theresa Deisher, a scientist who studies adult stem cell therapies and regenerative medicine, told Breitbart.com she has reason to believe "babies in some of these cases were alive until their hearts were cut out."

"If you read scientific publications, in which they use the fetal material for some indications, particularly, cardio-vascular, or nerve cell research, they discuss the necessity of having tissue in the digesting buffer solution within five minutes for optimal yields," she told the news organization. "So, within five minutes of death, you would have to have the heart removed, and flushed of all blood, cleaned of any extra tissue that might be there, and the heart put into a liquid with enzymes that would digest the connective tissue and release the muscle cells."
Deisher, who earned a doctorate in molecular and cellular physiology from Stanford University, further explained: "Sometimes, they use an apparatus where they hook the heart up and they would flush fluid through it to keep it alive and beating. And you can't have a dead heart that's going to work in that kind of process."
The scientist said, if the organs are to be kept usable for research, the baby's heart must continue beating until just before harvest.
"Biomedical companies prefer gestational ages of greater than 20 weeks for heart muscle," she explained to the news site. "This is from reading their publications; so, I have always suspected that the babies in some of these cases were alive until their hearts were cut out."
Deisher founded Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute and is the CEO of AVM Biotechnology. She made history when she became the first person to patent stem cells from the adult heart.
Breitbart reports, "Deisher worked for two decades in the commercial biomedical field, she ultimately found the industry's extensive experimentation with the remains of aborted babies incompatible with her pro-life values. She then began her own biotechnology companies that promote the use of adult stem cells for medical research."
So far, CMP has released six undercover videos. As WND reported, the most recent video featured a licensed phlebotomist who took a job as a tissue-procurement operative for a California company that supplies body parts to researchers saying she was pressured to turn aborted babies into cash. "I'm not going to tell a girl to kill her baby so I can get money," said Holly O'Donnell, a former procurement technician for StemExpress, a biotech company in northern California that partners with Planned Parenthood clinics. "That's what this company does. Straight up, that's what this company does," she said.
Five other videos have revealed Planned Parenthood executives coldly haggling over body parts. One said, "I want a Lamborghini."
In the first video released by CMP, Planned Parenthood Chief Medical Officer Dr. Deborah Nucatola explains, "Calvarium – the head – is basically the biggest part. Most of the other stuff can come out intact."
Nucatola adds that the person performing the abortion must be "kind of cognizant of where you put your graspers."
"You try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that, you know, we've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I'm not gonna crush that part, I'm going to basically crush below, and I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact."
Nucatola also explains that the baby can be manipulated so that his or her body – with the exception of the head – is outside the mother. Then the baby's head may be crushed and other body parts collected intact.
The first undercover video released by CMP:
Deisher told Breitbart, "I don't think that any American can imagine fully what is happening in these clinics. And, visually, perhaps, they need to see it. I think it's important that people see the reality of what's done. It's absolutely barbaric."
She said, regardless of whether a person favors or opposes abortion, "this is just something that a civilized society does not allow, condone, or support."
Deisher concluded, "I mean, we don't even allow prisoners condemned to death to be approached for donation because it's unethical. So, as a society we know this is wrong – we have laws against it. And while people like to say the babies are going to die anyway – they're going to be aborted – it's sort of like an execution that's planned, and we as a society recognize that it's absolutely unethical to take advantage of the remains of that human being."

An old story
WND also has reported that as horrific as the videos appear, they should surprise no one, since such practices have been documented for nearly two decades already.
A price list uncovered by a pro-life organization dated June 1998 shows that the price per specimen from a second trimester abortion is $90 fresh and $130 frozen.
Mark Crutcher, whose Life Dynamics organization was a ground-breaker in investigating the abortion behemoth that gets some $500 million annually from U.S. taxpayers, worked on that investigation.
His group reported back in February 2000 how the baby parts market works: "A baby parts 'wholesaler' enters into a financial agreement with an abortion clinic in which the wholesaler pays a monthly 'site fee' to the clinic. For this payment, the wholesaler is allowed to place a retrieval agent inside the clinic where he or she is given access to the corpses of children killed there and a workspace to harvest their parts."
He continued: "The buyer – usually a researcher working for a medical school, pharmaceutical company, bio-tech company or government agency – supplies the wholesaler with a list of the baby parts wanted. … when such orders are received … they are faxed to the retrieval agent at the clinic who harvests the requested parts and ships them to the buyer."
The documentation was provided at that time to Life Dynamics by a worker who left Comprehensive Health for Women, a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Overland Park, Kansas.

Among the documents was a "Fee-for-Services" Schedule A, effective June 1998, which outlined a charge of $220 per specimen for first-trimester aspiration abortions and $260 if the baby parts were frozen.
Crutcher's report, citing Planned Parenthood's own paperwork, found that one agent sold during February 1996 alone 47 livers, 11 liver fragments, seven brains, 21 eyes, eight thymuses, 23 legs, 14 pancreases, 14 lungs, six arms and one kidney-adrenal gland.
He also sold three orders of blood from the unborn child. The retrieval agent "harvested all of the parts," the report said, explaining that "in order for the blood of an aborted child to be sold, the dead baby had to be brought to him intact."
The "specimens," the report said, would have generated up to about $25,000 in revenue for one month from one retrieval agent at one Planned Parenthood business.
Crutcher reported that the tissue logs reveal that one baby is often chopped up and sold to many buyers.
For example, babies taken from donors 113968 and 114189 were both killed late in their second trimester and cut into nine pieces. By applying the price list, buyers would have been invoiced between $3,510 and $5,070 for these parts, he said.
