Chelsea Clinton, the famous daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, said she's a bit shocked at the reception her mother's getting from voters – she's the person she most loves "in the world," she said.
On "Today" on NBC, the younger Clinton spoke of her presidential-hopeful mother's disfavor with the voters, and said she just can't figure it out. Specifically, host Savannah Guthrie asked Clinton about the words frequently used to describe her mother – "dishonest," "untrustworthy," "liar." And Clinton's response?
"It is always surprising to me," she said, the Hill reported, "because my mom is my hero and one of the people that i admire and love most in the world."
Clinton also acknowledged she might be biased.
"I'm not a pundit, I'm a daughter," she said. "I love and admire my mom. I know that she's talking about issues that are important to families across our country. I believe that's starting to resonate."
The elder Clinton has seen a 21-point drop in presidential polls since July, the Hill reported, citing a Washington Post/ABC News survey. Meanwhile, self-declared socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders is coming on strong, rising to give Clinton real runs for the money in several recent polls.
"I just continue to believe, as more people see more of her, will come to know why I believe so strongly that she would make a great president and reach the same conclusions," she said, NBC reported.
