Dear Mr. Farah:
I spent a fair amount of my adult life as a professional military officer. One of my disappointments after retiring from the military was finding out how disengaged most people are about how our nation is being run. Acutely unaware of the massive lobbying efforts at every local, state and federal level, they have no clue of the real thievery and betrayal going on every day.
You certainly can understand wanting an infusion of immigration talent to maintain a replacement birthrate so our society continues, and one would think that the main targets would be vetted and educated candidates who embrace the values and founding principles of our nation. Sadly, many who are in office don't embrace these values and principles at all.
The unchecked and undocumented immigration is a national disgrace. Now, this administration is forcing refugees on the nation that have not been vetted, and even by the admission of many high level law enforcement officials can never be vetted. The majority are Muslim, and we have no idea if a large percentage are connected to other radicals.
The GOP sits around like political eunuchs waiting for the next instructions from the emperor. The disagreement with any imperial policy is met with accusations of racism, white privilege and potential mental impairment for not supporting any and all policies. One day I will pick up the paper and see that Al Gore has been appointed Global Czar of Global Warming. The secretary of state just issued a threat to all of those "nonbelievers." I can see two Germans sitting at a cafe after reading this and saying that this sounds very familiar.
The GOP is almost at the point of rendering themselves irrelevant. They take a stand on nothing despite the enormous frustration and disgust their constituents have for them. However – THEY DON'T CARE! Every letter or email sent is probably used as a toilet paper substitute.
I read about the nonsense going on on college campuses and realize the institutions I thought were worthless are now serving as the centers of enablement. Where this ends up I haven't a clue, but you can bet the outcomes will not enhance our way of life.
William
