Republican Party presidential primary front-runner Donald Trump said if he wins the White House, one of his first actions will be to sign an executive order to mandate the death penalty for those who kill police officers.
"One of the first things I'd do in terms of executive order, if I win, will be to sign a strong, strong statement that would go out to the country, out to the world, anybody killing a policeman, police woman, police officer, anybody killing [a] police officer, the death penalty is going to happen," Trump said, the Hill reported.
He made the remarks during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, shortly after the New England Police Benevolent Association, whose members were in attendance, voted to endorse him for president.
"We can't let this go," Trump said.

He then spoke of the 2014 shooting deaths of two New York City police officers as they sat in their police cars.
"I want to let you know," Trump said, the Hill reported, "the police and law enforcement in this country, I will never, ever let them down. The job they do and the job all you in this room do is second to none, and everyone in our country knows that."
