When Portugal's Rogerio Pacheco, 32, looked up and saw this stunning cloud formation, he knew it was something he had to share on his weather blog.
"As soon as I saw the sky, I was immediately intrigued and I just had to grab my camera to take photo," Pacheco said.
And no wonder.
The dramatic formation, caught in the reds and golds of Monday's sunrise above the island of Madeira, looked like a giant hand holding a fireball descending from heaven.
Indeed, it has been dubbed the "hand of God."

It joins other dramatic heavenly "signs" spotted this year and reported by WND.
Sunrise and sunset commuters have their photographs of what have been called solar angels and solar crosses at locations ranging from Hawaii to Michigan and New York. And the images immediately go viral.
"I appreciate all of the love that this photo is getting," said New York's Erika Redner Winn. "The sunset, painted by my Jesus, gave me such peace and hope. ... I pray that peace will touch everyone who feels that way about such a beautiful photo of such an amazing sky."
