The new policy seeks to remind readers how Trump previously called for a halt on Muslims into the United States in order to allow immigration and national security officials the time to check backgrounds. Trump’s maintained his plan is aimed at protecting American citizens from terrorist attacks and criminal assaults.

The Huffington Post, which at early points in the presidential campaign season outright banned any mention of Trump from its news section – demanding editors place all stories related to the billionaire, even political ones, in the entertainment section – sees his immigration stance as discriminatory. And the addendum at the end of all Trump-related stories is meant to underscore that point to readers.

“Yes, we’re planning to add this note to all future stories about Trump,” the spokesperson said to Politico. “No other candidate has called for banning 1.6 billion people from the country. If any other candidate makes such a proposal, we’ll append a note under pieces about them.”

The note on one recent Huffington Post story also included links to Trump’s past comments, as captured in other stories.
