Bite me! Literally!
Tense? Keyed up? Got a problem? Bite me! That's right.
According to the UK's Mirror, "Dorothy Stein, aka Dr. Dot, says she bites her celebrity clients with a bizarre technique she's been using for 30 years."
That's backs and backsides! Watch this video for the whackiest massage technique you ever saw:
Unlike most children (perhaps I'm presuming here), Ms. Stein was encouraged by her "hippy" mother to bite since the 5-year-old Stein's hands were too small to effectively massage her mother each evening (apparently an odd yet mandatory ritual). But it would appear after three decades of star-studded clients, and a barter method that has seen the 48-year-old attend upwards of 3000 rock concerts, the unusual combination of massage, make-up, and "love" advice is working ... for her.
Dubbed "doctor" by first-time client and hard rocker Frank Zappa, Stein began her career at the tender age of 15, desperate to find the means by which to get into concerts – without money, that is, to buy a ticket. Her first "back stage" massage-for-tickets trade was with the band Def Leopard. Stein now boasts of a client list that includes both men and women. Kanye West, the late David Bowie, Rhianna, Keith Richards, Gwen Stefani, Eminem and Oasis all rank among the initiated. And with Stein reportedly unfazed by unpleasant odors or bodily responses, that list is likely to grow.
But Stein, currently based in New Jersey, isn't taking any chances on that score. With a compliment of 1000 employees ("Dot Bots") all fully trained, Stein intends on spreading this massage method worldwide.
Oh boy. Truly ... bite me!
Spirituality, a competitive sport?
Planning to rebel against organized, authoritative religion? Or maybe you're bent on shaking (reaching) that young adult in your life? You know, the one who formerly seemed destined to do great things. but now is completely out of touch with reality?
J.P. Spears, one-time life coach at Ohio's C.H.E.K. Institute, gives all the insight needed in this humorous take on the near pandemic rise of ultra-competitive "spirituality":
You see, unlike previous generations when value was measured by deeds, tangibles, a certain level of skill – or. at the very least, effort – today's accounting corresponds to feeeeelings. Perception is king.
What do "you" think? And beauty isn't the only thing in the eye of the beholder. Reality is, too. But as J.P. notes in the video, where faith is concerned, you know you're spiritual when others tell you that you are. So there is no need to bother with God or anything outside of yourself and those who you can cultivate to tell you what you want to hear.
That's some religion!
Can't stop shaking – and who can blame her?
If real life isn't challenging enough, the future of video games will soon supply. The website What's Trending reports on the fun when "Norwegian gamers Karl and Renate decided to play a virtual reality horror game, and it went about as well as you'd expect!"
Check out this side-splitting reaction:
Word is Renate will not be re-entering the Brookhaven Experiment anytime soon.
Brookhaven is a VR (Virtual Reality) survival-shooter game made to play on HTC Vive. HTC Vive is the new virtual reality headset developed by HTC and Valve Corporation. The system made its debut during HTC's Mobile World Congress keynote in March 2015 and has since garnered upward of 22 awards at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 in Las Vegas.
By way of 3D space sensors, this headset scales the applications to the size of the room in which it's used. This enables players to move naturally, engaging objects – even zombies – in a real-time way that is just not possible on other gaming devices.
But if battling zombies isn't your style, you may appreciate the other (less horrifying) possibilities the HTC Vive offers – like a preview of an Ikea kitchen prior to purchase. Nick Summers, writing for EnGadget, gives all the details of a different kind of apocalypse – the kind with kids, crowds and lots of noise made by the living that may make some men shake (or perhaps just their wallets).
