A Middle East organization that once was armed and trained by U.S. funding and later declared “war” on Israel has posted a boast on Facebook that it has killed 11,000 Israelis.

The report comes from the researchers at Palestinian Media Watch, whose work has been relied upon by the Foreign Affairs Committee in Congress, the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee and parliaments throughout Europe.

Its new report cites the Fatah boasts on Facebook within the last few days of its “achievements on behalf of Palestinians.”

“Significantly, Fatah did not cite even one peace-seeking or peace-promoting achievement, but only listed Fatah acts of violence and terror,” the report said.

“Fatah even boasted that its attacks have killed 11,000 Israelis. While Fatah and the PLO have been killing Israelis since 1965, this number is a gross exaggeration,” the report said.

On the page was: “To those who argue (with Fatah), to the ignorant, and to those who do not know history.”

Then Fatah listed:

  • “Fatah has killed 11,000 Israelis
  • “Fatah has sacrificed 170,000 martyrs (shahids)…
  • “Fatah was the first to carry out operations (i.e. terror attacks) during the first Intifada (i.e., Palestinian violence and terror against Israel, 1988-1993), and it was the first Palestinian faction to reach the nuclear reactor in Dimona (i.e., 1988 murder of 3 working mothers on way to the Dimona plant)
  • “Fatah was the first to fight in the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005) (Baha Al-Sa’id, an officer in the Preventive Security Forces, infiltrated an Israeli settlement on the border with Gaza) [parenthesis in source]…
  • “Fatah was the first to defeat the Zionist enemy (Battle of El-Karameh) [parenthesis in source]…
  • “Fatah led the Palestinian attack on Israel in the U.N.”

PMW reported the post was on the official Fatah Facebook page as of Aug. 2.

The group also said the attack on the nuclear reactor was a “reference to Fatah’s bus hijacking and murder of three Israeli civilians on their way to work at the Dimona nuclear plant in 1988.”

It’s not the first time such bragging has appeared.

In 2014, PMW found a similar Fatah Facebook post in which it boasted of a bus-hijacking attack that killed Miriam Ben-Yair, Rina Shiratky and Victor Ram.

At that time, Fatah also bragged about the work of Baha Said, a terrorist for the Popular Resistance Committees, who in 2000 infiltrated a community in the Gaza Strip and killed two Israeli soldiers. Said was shot and killed.

Also, Fatah boasted of the Karameh battle in 1968 in which Israeli forces attacked a Jordanian village from which Fatah terrorists were launching attacks on Israel. Israel prevailed militarily but the clash was used for propaganda.

It was back in 2007 that the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the military wing of Fatah, “declared ‘open war’ against the ‘Zionist enemy.'”

Fatah’s spokesman, Dimitri Diliani, also famously declared that Jerusalem’s “Temple Mount” should not be known by that name, since, “It doesn’t exist.”

“I don’t know where it is. I cannot see any Temple. Can you? No one can find any trace of it. The area you refer to is only a Muslim holy site,” he claimed.

That comment came even though the Waqf, the Islamic custodians of the Mount, conducted an unsupervised excavation on the site in 1997 in which they were caught by Israeli authorities disposing of truckloads of Temple Mount dirt that contained Jewish Temple artifacts.

It was in 2006 that the U.S. participated in efforts to arm and train Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Force 17 personal security detail to prepare it for potential violent confrontations with Hamas forces.

A senior member of Force 17 told WND in an exclusive interview at the time that any U.S. aid and weapons given to his security organization will be used to attack Jews and “fight Israeli occupation.”

The militant, Abu Yousuf, hinted new weapons provided by the U.S. to Force 17 could be shared with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror organization, the declared “military wing” of Abbas’ Fatah party. Abu Yousuf, like several Force 17 members, is also a member of the Brigades.

“There is no chance that we will use force and violence against our brothers in Hamas unless they will endanger [Abbas]. There is a chance that Israel will attack the Palestinian territories, and in this case, these weapons and others provided [by the U.S. to Force 17] will be directed towards the (Israeli) occupation,” Abu Yousuf said then.
