Black leader: Charlotte rioters 'bunch of angry Black Lives Matter goons'

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson

It’s become a sadly familiar sequence of events: a confrontation on an urban street, an order to obey, a sudden movement, and a police officer shoots a black man.

The riots follow.

Now here comes Hillary Clinton with her solution to the problem: America needs to deal with “systemic racism” in its law-enforcement system.

“We gotta tackle the systemic racism, this horrible shooting again, how many times do we have to see this in our country?” the Democratic Party presidential nominee declared in a recent interview on the “The Steve Harvey Show.”

Clinton was referring to the incident Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in which a white officer, Betty Shelby, shot and killed an unarmed black man, Terence Crutcher.

Clinton told Harvey that as president she would strive to prevent racial shootings by police officers.

“Maybe I can by speaking directly to white people, say, ‘Look, this is not who we are,'” she said. “We’ve got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias.”

Colin Flaherty, a reporter who has chronicled countless incidents of black mob violence over the years, said the Democrat candidate is just pandering to African-Americans.

“Most conservatives would be surprised if they knew how much time Hillary Clinton – and Bernie Sanders – have spent over the last two years talking about black racial grievances and how white racism is the root of all of it,” Flaherty told WND. “Her favorite line during this period is how one-in-three black men will spend some time in prison and how ‘there is no reason for that.’ Other than black people commit far more crimes than white people – and of course, Asian people, too.

“So now Hillary says she is going to dismantle this system of white racism by talking to police and reminding them, ‘That is not who we are.’ Translation: Black people do not like it when black people are caught committing crimes. So stop arresting them.”

Flaherty acknowledged that may sound ridiculous, but that is how the police are operating in cities around the country. He said that from Baltimore and Philadelphia to Chicago and Detroit to Milwaukee and Charlotte, officers are taking a more hands-off approach to urban crime, believing they cannot arrest their way out of the problems they face.

Jack Cashill, an independent writer and producer who authored “Scarlet Letters: The Ever-Increasing Intolerance of the Cult of Liberalism Exposed,” noted the liberal double standard when it comes to assessing motives for violent acts.

“A guy can shout ‘Allahu Akbar’ before shooting or slashing or bombing his fellow citizens, and Hillary will caution us not to rush to judgment about his motives and yet let a white cop shoot a black suspect, and Hillary can read the racism in his heart as though there were a label on it,” said Cashill, a WND columnist.

Clinton’s solution of speaking directly to white people would have done nothing to prevent the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte on Tuesday. The officer who killed Scott, Brentley Vinson, is also black.

Unlike Crutcher in Tulsa, Scott apparently was armed when police gunned him down. He reportedly ignored officers’ commands to drop his handgun.

But that didn’t stop a crowd of more than 200 protesters from gathering in the neighborhood where Scott was killed. They could be heard yelling, “Black lives matter,” and, “Hands up, don’t shoot!”

Some protesters threw rocks and bottles at police and damaged police vehicles. Some officers, in riot gear, fired tear gas to disperse the crowd. Sixteen police officers were injured, and at least seven civilians were taken to hospitals, according to officials.

Rioters also blocked Interstate 85 and threw objects at motorists. Someone set a fire that blocked lanes of traffic, and a nearby Walmart store was looted.

Flaherty told WND black-mob violence in Charlotte is an unfortunate tradition.

“YouTube is full of videos of large groups of black people rampaging through downtown Charlotte destroying property, creating violence, throwing bricks, defying police – all because the bars closed at an inconvenient time,” he said. “These let-out fights are common in Charlotte and around the country.

“Also in Charlotte, reporters somehow forgot about the Air Force corpsman out for a night in Charlotte when he found himself in the middle of a Black Lives Matter protest. They beat him, breaking many bones in his face. Cops would not even investigate it.”

Flaherty said the latest round of violence in Charlotte is “just the latest and greatest example, nothing more.”

Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny and author of “The Antidote: Healing America From the Poison of Hate, Blame, and Victimhood,” released a statement regarding the riots in Charlotte.

“I’m calling on President Barack Obama and the presidential candidates to repudiate these riots and anti-police violence in the strongest terms possible,” Peterson, an exclusive WND columnist, stated. “Rioting and looting are not acceptable forms of protest. Charlotte city officials should not reward these thugs by permitting them any more opportunities to attack police and hurt law-abiding citizens.

“The officer who shot Keith Lamont Scott is black, so where’s the ‘racism’? What is taking place in Charlotte has nothing to do with civil rights. The rioters are a bunch of angry Black Lives Matter goons who hate police and whites. They are looking for any excuse to riot, loot and hurt police.

Peterson said he holds Obama, the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson responsible “for fomenting this toxic culture of hate, blame and victimhood that is creating chaos in our cities.”

“I commend Donald Trump for reaching out to black voters and for holding town hall meetings with black Americans,” Peterson said. “I would encourage him to deal with this issue in an honest and forthright manner and not to pander to Black Lives Matter and other race hustlers like Obama and Hillary Clinton are doing.”
