(London Daily Mail) A federal prosecutor has issued a subpoena for the cellphone and other electronic records of Anthony Weiner after DailyMail.com revealed his underage sexting.
Preet Bharara, the prosecutor for the Southern District of New York, issued the order just a day after our revelation - and after the NYPD Special Victim's Unit began looking into possible charges resulting from the exchange between him and an out-of-state minor.
CNN first disclosed the move by prosecutors from Bharara's office. He acted after the FBI opened its own investigation, the new network said.
Weiner carried on a months-long online sexual relationship with the girl during which she claims he asked her to dress up in 'school-girl' outfits for him on a video messaging application and pressed her to engage in 'rape fantasies', DailyMail.com has exclusively reported.
