In the last four years, there has been an explosion in the transgender population and a dramatic increase in all things trans. The cause of this can be traced to the fraudulent reclassification of gender identity disorder in 2012.
Until then, the American Psychiatric Association, or APA, had correctly classified transgenderism as a mental illness. In the DSM-5, published in December of 2012, this condition was renamed gender dysphoria, and was removed from the list of mental illnesses. What was the basis for that change? Was there new evidence or research to prove that a boy is really a girl? Hardly. It is obvious that the change was made to serve some hidden agenda.
The APA was pressured by the trans lobby to make the change, and for some inexplicable reason, they capitulated. Doesn't it seem strange that the patients are telling the doctors what the diagnosis should be? Isn't it stranger still that the doctors are listening to them? It's all very suspicious.
There is no medical or scientific justification for the reclassification. It is fraudulent, unethical and probably illegal. Yet, it is rarely questioned by the public. By all rights, there should be a federal investigation into abusive practices in the medical and psychiatric professions that originated with the reclassification. Because of it, sex-change treatment is now considered a medical necessity and is covered by most insurance plans. It also removes the social stigma of a mental illness and makes transitioning more socially acceptable. This reclassification amounts to an invitation to try a sex change.
Equally fraudulent is the ban on so-called "conversion therapy" for trans minors. Has anyone stopped to think about what conversion therapy for transgenders is? It is merely counseling. If a boy says,"I'm a girl," and the therapist says,"No, you're not. You're a boy," that is "conversion therapy," and the therapist could lose his license for that exchange. Presient Obama wants a nationwide ban on conversion therapy, meaning he wants a ban on counseling.
The goal of trans activists is to allow transitioning on demand. Doctors, psychiatrists, teachers and counselors could all be fired for interfering with someone's transition. Another goal of the LGBT lobby is for parents to lose their children for not being supportive of their child's transitioning. All this is made possible by the bogus reclassification of gender identity disorder, which says that transitioning is medically necessary, so it cannot be denied to someone.
But is it really medically necessary? What is the medical necessity to turn a boy into a girl? Keep in mind that most of these kids outgrow the condition in their teen years, so they will most likely want to de-transition later on. Also keep in mind that the hormone treatment involved makes the kids sterile for life. It's one thing for a grown adult to mutilate his body if he wants to, but it is unconscionable to perform drastic, needless medical procedures on children who are too young to make such a life-changing decision.
These and other trans-related issues are explored in my book, "Transgenda." The book takes an in-depth look at the sex-change concept and exposes it as a huge fraud.
