(DAILYCALLER) — Republicans in California plan to expand into the heavily Democratic state of California because of President-elect Donald Trump’s win in November, according to a Sunday report from the LA Times.
The group cites momentum and energy from a strong Republican win in several states that were assumed to go to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. The state hasn’t given a statewide office to a Republican in over a decade, and Trump lost the state by nearly 4 million votes.
“If we can get Donald J. Trump to be president of the United States, certainly we can get Californians registered to be Republicans,” conservative Californian Johnnie Morgan told the Times. “With the energy we have now, with the momentum we have now, with the inspiration we have now, with the committed people we have now, we can do this. It will spread like wildfire.”
