Thank for your informative news service and insightful columns. You’ve answered a longstanding question I have had about why the media, even on local issues, don’t report on the true goings-on of government.
You do raise another question though: When did the media start to believe that the ends justify the means?
When Obama threatened to bomb Syria over its use of chemical weapons, he found overwhelming opposition from the American public. To his credit, Putin showed leadership by throwing Obama a lifeline, preventing him from doing something that he didn’t have the stomach to do. Putin could have allowed the president to bury himself by allowing him to start yet another American war.
Now the president is in a position to show leadership in the current crisis with the government shutdown. Instead, he is content by calling the loyal opposition names like “anarchists,” “arsonists” and “extortionists.” ... continue reading »

I just read the article on borrowing money from China, et al.
I feel it important to point out that Americans have never borrowed money from China or even the Fed. Congress has.
Diana West writes, “It’s unthinkable that any government would dishonor its veterans this way.”
Why the surprise? Obama said back in 2008 that wounded veterans should turn to their health insurance for service-related injuries and illnesses and added that they volunteered for service.
How could America ignore such statements? How can America sit back while these old heroes are denied access to what is actually an open area, never before shut?

Just a question about the World War II Memorial issue that no one seems to be asking and maybe WND can ask: The barricades that were put up had to be trucked in. Then a fork truck operator put them in place. This was to surround a normally “unmanned” place.
So it cost the government HOW MUCH to do what is NEVER done and costs money to be undone?
Just saying: Someone should count the money being spent on the shutdown.
