Your article entitled “How the GOP lost Middle America” is exactly right.
The GOP used to represent the interests of working men and women, with a platform focused on low taxes, minimization of red tape, a strong national defense and controlled immigration. Once they made the decision to go corporate, they traded in broad-based support (voters and their votes) for deep-pockets support. The result? Republican bigwigs are discovering that corporate America’s dollars do not translate into election victories.
