It’s been 10 years since Bush and his henchman launched the Iraq war with a parade of lies the likes of which would have made Goebels and Hitler proud.
These lies have already been so thoroughly exposed, I won’t go into them here. But as with all wars, for most it brings only pain, suffering and death. American wars in particular, from Korea to Vietnam to the first Gulf War, as well as the countless nameless wars undertaken during the Cold War by the CIA and military to overthrow “undesirable governments,” have taken on a mythology whose lies are as great as those told to begin them. One of the lies is that t ... continue reading »
For centuries, Christians have observed the crucifixion of Jesus as being on Friday afternoon and the resurrection at dawn the following Sunday. This is only a period of about 40 hours and certainly does not fit Jesus’ prediction of three days and three nights?
“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a whale, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth,” Matthew 12:40.
The problem is neither with Jesus’ prediction nor with the Bible. The problem is with our tradition that misses a very important fact of the events of that week in Jesu ... continue reading »
I’m a white veteran and gun owner. I fit all the demographics of the Republican Party. I must say that, thankfully, after having completed my undergraduate studies, I became a Democrat.
The only kids I knew that were Republicans were going to school to be in business or were born wealthy. Your party is the party of greed, selfishness and ignorance. The good old boys need another vacation home in Europe while the poor and middle class work hard to simply put a roof over their heads and food on the table.
I’m from Wisconsin and am so embarrassed by the likes of Ron Johnson, Paul Ryan and that sorry Gov. Walker. Your ... continue reading »
While I regard Glenn Beck as an entertainer and a political ideologue, and certainly a devout Mormon, what, I wonder, qualifies him to be considered a “biblical scholar”? ["The Other Brother bedevils Obama"]
First, I’ve always been a little muddy on whether the correct term is “Bible scholar,” or “biblical scholar.” I’ve never encountered Glenn Beck, himself, in Scripture, which the latter term seems to imply, but I digress.
Second, I understand that one need not hold to the teachings of the text to be considered a scholar ... continue reading »
I was just trying to familiarize myself with WND and suddenly came across your Between the Lines column “Obama’s ‘civilian national security force’” – which you published on July 15, 2008! You should republish it again to wake up our country as to what is taking place now, five years later!
I’m 87 years old, have worked very hard and am very afraid it will be to no avail. Please keep up the pressure.
I can’t believe this is happening to America.
Thank you and best wishes.
[WND] is not independent journalism, period. To claim as such would be consumer fraud as you claim to be selling “news.”
I was led to this site by some ad about impeaching Obama for a fraudulent birth certificate. Not only is this incredibly untrue, it’s textbook yellow journalism. This site is a farce of journalism in general. Spew as much pro-conservative, pro-fundamental Christian, anti-liberal, anti-science rhetoric as you please. It’s your constitutional right, and I would defend that right if it were challenged. But don’t insult my intelligence as well as any logical person’s by telling me t ... continue reading »
