Nature and marriage

Monday, April 8th, 2013

The issue of polygamy made its way to the United States Supreme Court in 1878. George Reynolds, a Mormon in Utah, said that his religion required him to have more than one wife. Since the First Amendment guarantees freedom of religion, Reynolds claimed it gave him the right to practice polygamy. His reasoning failed to convince the Court, and the practice was struck down in Reynolds v. United States. The First Amendment, the justices contended, has limitations. Otherwise, human sacrifice could be justified as freedom of religion. The opinion of the Court was that “Marriage, while from its very nature a sacred obligation, is neverthel ... continue reading »

Obama's selective enforcement

Monday, April 8th, 2013

The “Gang of Eight” senators is putting final touches on a “comprehensive” immigration bill a majority of Americans don’t want. Obama will probably sign the bill because it includes a pathway to citizenship (for more Democrats). Given his past actions and predilections, however, Obama will surely go into his “selective enforcement” mode and see that provisions he dislikes are not enforced. Obama has shown he is quite adept at this. The past is prologue. Increased border security? Sure. About the same time the sun sets in the east.

Just who the hell do McCain, Schumer et al. think they’ ... continue reading »

When a Marxist repents ...

Monday, April 8th, 2013

Rush is spot on about Obama ["Rush: Obama doesn't want to solve problems"]. He has no desire to correct the problems facing America. Obama helped create most of the problems facing our once blessed nation.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know why either. Obama is a Marxist. Marxists hate America. Their goal is not to help America become stronger. Their goal is to destroy us and any people they think are standing in the way of Obama’s complete takeover of this nation and turning it into a Marxist-controlled dictatorship.

Thus far, Obama and the ... continue reading »

Waking up to truth about Democratic Party

Sunday, April 7th, 2013

The WND interview, “Democratic Party lying about racist roots,” had me in tears. I’m a 59-year black woman and I felt exactly like K. Carl Smith.

I was a Democrat all my life. When you finally wake up to the truth and realize you’ve been lied to for years, it is very depressing. Now I’m trying to educate myself and my family and help them to understand that our core values really are conservative.

My father survived Pearl Harbor, was very patriotic, made sure all of us went to church and ran a small business. But ... continue reading »

Needed: Strong candidate to oppose Hillary

Sunday, April 7th, 2013

More than half the voters today are politically naive. Evidence? Obama’s re-election.

This indeed bodes well for a likely Hillary Clinton presidential run in 2016. She has quite a resume, including meetings with most world leaders. Her record of actual accomplishment, however, is paper thin, given the growing role of Islam in more parts of the world.

Even so, Republicans face a formidable task when they try to deny her the White House. They will need a candidate who has it all: capable of inspiring rhetoric, a record of high achievement in several areas, a pristine record of personal character and a fierce love of count ... continue reading »

This isn't our America anymore

Sunday, April 7th, 2013

America isn’t America anymore. The neo-cons and the progressive liberals have seen to that.

However, their monstrous post-constitutional government contains the seeds of its own destruction because there are too many Americans who recall the taste of freedom. We the People can be pushed just so far.

If Gallup pollsters want to gauge the deep undercurrent of discontent, anger and anxiety amongst Americans, they should ask the question: “Hypothetically, given a choice to move to a state or a region of states within the United States not subject to Washington, D.C., would you do so?”
