Obama’s endearing persona and intellect and his awareness of his gifts vaulted him to his successes. He leveraged his appeal against our need for inspiration and inclusiveness. Too few consider his marginalized formative roots – socialist activism and Islam. He sought and assumed power, never with intent to benefit the majorities that supported him. He gave deference to the smaller voices, not just the needy, but profiting partners, and the radical. We’ve seen growth in their numbers and boldness – and in those who have been damaged here and abroad.
