Like many, I plan to watch Obama’s inauguration ceremonies. Unique to us, rich in tradition and all that. But what I’d like to see included in the telecast is some behind-the-scenes stuff. Obama’s crown- fitting session, for example.
After reading about Mayor Koch’s desire to ban all guns in the U.S., I can’t help but wonder if politicians are unable to learn from the past. From 1920 to 1933, the U.S. government banned all liquor. History shows us how successful that was. The U.S. government has been waging their “War on Drugs” now for many years and have yet to win. We as a society can continue to ignore it and look the other way or come up with temporary fixes that give the appearance of seriousness. However, the reality is: There are too many guns in the U.S., and our too-many-guns are being turned on us.
I believe all the suggested legislation on the table as of now might make it difficult to sell certain weapons; yet, it does not address the ability to ... continue reading »
