When Obama went back to playing golf after addressing the nation about James Foley’s decapitation, he said later about his action: “I should’ve anticipated the optics.”
Was this his humble apology? Was he kidding? This had nothing to do with his optics and his presidential theatre. We are talking about a man losing his head, and he is worried that he might have made a faux pas in allowing himself to look bad.
