We, as Americans, finance terrorism. That is the ugly truth no one else will tell you. A portion of each dollar we spend on gas and fossil fuel ends up in terrorist hands. And they use it to buy weapons of mass destruction that kill thousands.
As we enrich the oil producers in the Middle East by importing oil, they in turn funnel part of that money to the terrorists. If not for oil money, terrorists that today can instill fear in whole nations across the globe would only be tiny groups of poorly armed angry men stuck in the Middle East.
The article on “assault” rifles in the New York Times brings up the question of why, really, are the Democrats trying to ban them. Clubs and hammers kill more people annually than all types of rifles, so it has nothing to do with crime. I can only surmise that they want to take from the the public the weapons most effective in repelling unconstitutional assaults by police and federal agencies. The weapons best at assaulting a position are also best at defending one. Hitler did not ban small handguns because they were no threat to his troops with rifles and machine guns.
Recently Vladimir Putin announced a defense program to upgrade the Russian Federation’s defense systems, a 10-year program. Promptly after that, three missiles were launched from a Russian Federation submarine. This was called a test. This was done to show that Russian Federation submarines can fire missiles. That’s nothing new!
Technologically speaking, the Russian Federation cannot really menace anyone at this time. The Russian Federation lags behind the United States of America and the People’s Republic of China.
