Obama's Maoist media controller

What does it say about Barack Obama and his devout supporters that his White House communications director is a big fan of Mao Zedong?

I know. I know. She said her two favorite philosophers were Mao and Mother Teresa. How's that for moral and intellectual disconnect?

Did you ever think you would hear those two names mentioned in the same breath?

Were there two people in the history of the world more opposite that Mother Teresa and Mao?

One devoted herself to saving lives. The other devoted himself to taking them.

One's worldview was shaped for her reverence for God. The other's was shaped by his denial, even hatred, of God.

Welcome to the strange world of Anita Dunn, Obama's self-proclaimed media controller.

For those of you who missed her practically incoherent speech last June on this topic, I invite you to watch it, courtesy of Fox News Channel's Glenn Beck.

I want you to try to imagine what would happen to anyone who rose to the rank of White House communications director who suggested her favorite philosopher was Adolf Hitler.

Understand leftists' dedication to tyranny and tolerance of terror in Jamie Glazov's "United in Hate"

Of course, such a moral degenerate would be fired in 10 minutes flat – and justifiably so. But, keep in mind, when it comes to mass extermination of human beings, Mao makes Hitler look like a piker by comparison.

Mao is considered the greatest mass murderer of all time – killing between 70 million and 100 million people, mostly his own.

I guess that's what Dunn means by following your own path – whether it's Mother Teresa's mission of Calcutta or Mao's Long March. It makes no difference to Dunn. No one can judge you if you simply fulfill your destiny.

Dunn insists now her speech was meant to be ironic.

Again, I leave it to you to judge whether a sense of "irony" would excuse a public official from making such a statement substituting the name Hitler for Mao. How about at a high school commencement?

After all, Hitler fulfilled his destiny. He got things done. Why is it that people like Dunn really do look admiringly on Communist totalitarian mass murders? Why is it that they not only excuse their excesses, they relish in them? Isn't it just a little scary that this media control freak looks admiringly on a tyrant who controlled the media at the point of a gun?

After I got over the shock of seeing this video, I mused at just how poorly this communications genius communicated.

(Column continues below)

No wonder she needs to control the media.

If anyone simply turned the camera on and allowed this woman to be herself, she would be discredited in the blink of an eye.

Once you get past the puffing of Mao, ask yourself what point she was trying to make.

What is the substance of her remarks?

There is none that I can detect – except for promoting a vague kind of moral relativism to graduating class Episcopalian high school students who have probably been immersed in such ideas for most of their childhood.

I don't even know how to respond to such ideas, because they are not ideas at all. It doesn't amount of much more than meaningless psycho-babble.

Anything goes. Do your own thing.

Boy, that's original.

That's uplifting. That's inspirational. That's new.

Is this the best Barack Obama's got?

Is this his communications guru?

Is this the genius behind his takeover of the United States?

I can't believe America is so fat, lazy, stupid and immoral that it could be conned by such a pathetic rank amateur.
