Live Action President Lila Rose |
A mainstream media outlet has announced plans to look into how what it has labeled "guerrilla journalists," such as Lila Rose of the cutting-edge pro-life Live Action organization, are bypassing the establishment and delivering their messages directly to people.
CNN today announced that its "Right on the Edge" will debut Saturday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m.
The network said the new journalists are "armed with video cameras and ideas," and investigate stories, then "post their videos online to get their message directly to the public, bypassing the mainstream media."
"It's a new wave of what they say is old-fashioned guerrilla journalism," said CNN.

And it's all because there's a "growing distrust of the mainstream media among young conservative activists."
The network said its own investigative correspondent, Abbie Boudreau, will follow four rising stars, individuals who have "changed the course of public debate and pushed the envelope of journalism."
Rose is the pro-life activist who has gone undercover at Planned Parenthood clinics around the nation, revealing a shocking series of misstatements, suspect activity and what authorities even have suggested is criminal activity.
In her most recent work, she revealed how an Indiana abortion clinic provided medical "facts" that are contradicted by some of the world's leading medical journals.
The statements were an apparent effort to convince a potential patient to have an abortion.
The Rosa Acuna Project video from Live Action shows the clinic in Indianapolis telling a potential patient an abortion has no impact on future pregnancies, even though the American Journal of Public Health reports there's a 50-percent increased risk of an ectopic pregnancy after an abortion.
The video also showed the Planned Parenthood statements are contradicted by the Journal of Perinatal Medicine, which confirms an increased risk of premature births following an abortion, and the International Journal of Epidemiology, which reports an increased risk of miscarriage after an abortion.
"Planned Parenthood's counseling is based on its abortion-first mentality rather than the medical facts that women need," said Rose, UCLA student and president of Live Action.
"Planned Parenthood gives vulnerable women misinformation to sell them the abortion," she said, even though Indiana's informed-consent law requires that women receive accurate medical information before having an abortion.
The video:
The undercover project is the third released by Live Action in the "Rosa Acuna Project," a multistate undercover investigation of medical misinformation and manipulative counseling at Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion business in America.
Live Action previously released two undercover videos in its "Mona Lisa Project" that revealed two Planned Parenthood businesses in Indiana agreeing to cover up the sexual abuse of a child.
The videos prompted Indiana lawmakers to seek defunding of the abortion business of more than $3 million annually from government grants.
"Citizens and lawmakers in Indiana must stop Planned Parenthood from using millions of dollars of taxpayer money to exploit young women," said Rose.
In the latest Indianapolis video, a woman, purportedly 10 weeks pregnant, asks the clinician named "Sarah" when her baby's heart begins to beat.
Sarah replies, "It's around I think the 8th or the 9th week that you can hear the heartbeat."
But Live Action documents that, according to Moore and Persaud's well-known textbook "The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology," a heartbeat can be found about three weeks after conception.
The Planned Parenthood clinician also insists, "It's not a baby, it's a fetus," which, she claims, is "not like a person."
In the video, Sarah assures the woman that "having an abortion is safer than carrying to term."
The woman asks, "The abortion won't hurt me from having more kids in the future, will it?"
The counselor replies, "Nope."
In an earlier Rosa Acuna Project video, an abortion counselor at a tax-funded Milwaukee Planned Parenthood business said of a pregnancy at eight weeks, "That's not a baby at this point. … At this point, there's nothing developed at all. There's no legs, no arms, no head, no brain, no heart."
In reality, by eight weeks, all of a baby's essential organs have begun to form. Elbows and toes are visible, and facial features – including the eyes, nose, lips and tongue – continue to develop. The ears take shape, and the brain begins to control each of the organs. The baby is less than one inch long.
The video from that encounter:
A similar video released in December from an Appleton, Wis., abortion clinic prompted Wisconsin State Sen. Glenn Grothman to call for an investigation of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Live Action reported that two leading embryologists also denounced Planned Parenthood's counseling, calling it "absurd and scientifically erroneous."
As WND reported, Live Action also released a video in February of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin failing to report sexual abuse of a woman who posed as a 14-year-old statutory-rape victim. The staff also coached her on how to obtain an abortion without her parents' knowledge or approval, the group said.
Wisconsin law requires women to receive medically accurate information before obtaining an abortion.
Others to be profiled include Christian Hartsock, a Hollywood video director; Jason Mattera, who confronts lawmakers in the hallways of Congress; and Ryan Sorba, who reveals the truth about the homosexual lifestyle.
CNN said, "There's no singular leader of this new generation of activists going undercover with video cameras, though James O'Keefe is well-known to the four activists and appears in some of their videos. He infamously dressed as a pimp, and, along with another activist who pretended to be a prostitute, videotaped his own application for public assistance inside the community-organizing group ACORN."
His reporting revealed ACORN, which described itself as a team of families "working together for social justice," apparently willing to advise on how to set up a child-prostitution business, among other things.
A sample of O'Keefe's work, in conjunction with Hannah Giles, has been posted in two parts:
