Does Sen. Barack Obama see dead people?

That's what the Democratic presidential candidate seemed to say in the opening sentence of his Memorial Day speech yesterday in New Mexico. But the statement apparently has been scrubbed from an official transcript on Obama's campaign website.

Obama began his speech yesterday stating: "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes – and I see many of them in the audience here today – our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."

But Obama's line about seeing fallen heroes in the audience was removed from a transcript posted on his website by his official campaign blogger, Sam Graham-Felson.

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes, our sense of patriotism is particularly strong," reads the campaign transcript.

Obama's campaign did not immediately return a WND phone call requesting comment on the discrepancy, which was first noticed by the Gateway Pundit blog.

The statement was Obama's second reported gaffe in the New Mexico speech. The other discrepancy has some angry bloggers claiming the presidential candidate was "lying about the Holocaust for political gain."

Obama told yesterday's audience, which included veterans, his "uncle" liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp.

But the U.S. didn't liberate Auschwitz. The Nazi camp, in southern Poland, was freed by the Soviets in January 1945.
