BLOEMFONTEIN, SOUTH AFRICA, March 20, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who/ — Stanford Who’s Who is proud to announce the acceptance of Debbie Markides to the exclusive ranks of premier professionals as a result of exceptional effort in the engineering industry.
Debbie, who currently serves various roles at SSI, started in the engineering field in 1996 with Karabo Engineering as a receptionist and personal assistant. As a professional, one of her proudest moments lies in receiving a certificate of recognition from the Premier of the Free State for her contribution in the initiation of the renovation project (Kaho Botjha Project) of a technical high school in Rockland’s which over the years had deteriorated terribly where pupils had to attend school in appalling conditions.
Over the years, with determination, passion and dedication Debbie worked her way up the ranks to the positions she now holds at SSI, as Business Development Manager for the RSA Energy and Resources Sector, Office Manager for the Mangaung Office, and Commercial Sector Area Manager of Energy and Resources for the Central region.
In a dominantly male environment, she has succeeded in establishing a place for herself by being the first within the positions she holds in implementing new structures. Amongst Debbie’s professional and personal commitments she focuses on learning something new each and every day and not being stagnate but rather continuing to grow.
During her collegiate career, Debbie earned a Higher National Diploma in Project Management from Damelin. She is a member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals, Bay Area Biotech Business Development Roundtable, Proposal Professionals, eMarketing Association Network, Free State Chamber of Commerce and the Afrikaanse Handels Instituut (AHI).
Debbie is of the firm belief that to find success in every endeavor she must make a difference in each opportunity she pursues. With this philosophy Debbie is anticipating a future of growth and development as a professional within SSI as new exciting service lines emerge and the firm expands.
