Throughout her brilliant professional career, Marlene has routinely exhibited the passion, vision, and dedication necessary to be considered among the elite.
Entrepreneur, Marlene Travis was responsible for founding several companies and nonprofit organizations. She has also served in numerous senior management roles, and is the President of TraMac Corp, which is a small private business. Marlene is the current Treasurer of the Global Youth Fund and former Chair, CEO, President, COO, CAO and CMO of several corporations. Marlene is also the Creator of HealtheDecisions.com, which is a scientific evidence based clinical decision making software firm. In addition, Marlene has been a member of the Board of Directors for such companies as HRM Canada and founder Chair and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Quality, amongst others.
In the 1970’s, Marlene provided consultation for the Minnesota Commissioner of Education, Howard Casmey as well as for President Jimmy Carter in workshops related to diversity and enhancing human relations. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chamber of Commerce for many years. Additionally, Marlene was on the Board of Directors and served as Vice Chair for Medical Alley which is a trade organization in Minneapolis.
One of her greatest professional accomplishments was establishing a company along with her husband Gary which they grew from the ground up and took public, growing it to $250 million in annual revenue with 1000 employees.
Prior to retiring in 2001, Marlene provided professional consultation services for large organizations, including the Alberta Worker’s Compensation Board and several large United States and Canadian based organizations and corporations.
During her collegiate career, Marlene studied Finance and Business Management at the Wharton School for Executive Management. She also had the pleasure of participating in numerous high level business seminars with the Deans of Ivy League business schools, including Harvard University, Stanford University, Northwestern University, Columbia University, and Vanderbilt University.
