Time Warner Cable Inc ( NYSE:TWC ) is moving out as promised from the wireless business and has started selling its stake in Clearwire Corporation ( NASDAQ:CLWR ), the wireless provider. Time Warner Cable is moving away from an unsuccessful acquisition of the WiMax technology provider Clearwire. In 2008, the wireless technology was promising and lead to a $550 million deal. Since then, based on Monday's stock price of $1.54, Clearwire is $478.5 million cheaper than the initial investment. [BANNER] Warner Cable will sell all of its 7.8 percent stake in the company, as most probable buyers are other shareholders in Clearwire, possibly Intel Corp. If there is not enough interest from investors to increase their stake, Warner may offer the shares on the open market. Co-owner of Clearwire, Sprint Nextel Corp. ( NYSE:S ) faces its own problems, although with the most modern mobile networks. The recently unveiled LSE network still lacks capacity and experts predict the unrolling of the iPhone 5 will take up the network's capacity and lead the devices automatically to slower, yet available 3G bandwidth. This year will see severe competition in unrolling faster networks.
