HireRabbit, a company offering tools for Facebook-based recruiting, is exiting private beta today with the launch of its software-as-a-service platform for building a customized job sites on Facebook Pages. The system lets companies set up both a custom job and culture tab on their Facebook profile, portions of which can be automated by syncing with the company’s existing hiring systems.
Originally founded in October 2011, the company first launched its private beta in June of this year, and now has over 200 sign-ups from small businesses, recruiting agencies, and enterprise customers in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Some of these early adopters (around 10%) are also paying customers, co-founder Prafull Sharma tells us.
The system is designed to be used by non-technical staff, similar to how Facebook Page builder Pagemodo (acquired by Webs.com), gives any business owner the ability to create customized Facebook Pages without needing to know how to code. Using a simple interface, HireRabbit walks customers through the setup process, allowing them to add their job postings, company details, photos, video and more, in order to customize their Facebook tabs. (You can see some examples here: a Culture Tab, a Jobs Tab.)
Additionally, a big focus with the HireRabbit platform is not just providing a way to build these Facebook-based job sites – it also automates their upkeep. HireRabbit is able to integrate with existing applicant tracking systems like Taleo or Kenexa to sync jobs postings directly to Facebook. After they’re on Facebook, visitors can like them, share them or even tweet them. HireRabbit can also auto-post jobs to Twitter, too.
For companies, an analytics dashboard is available on the backend, showing the results of their social recruiting efforts, including things like pageviews, views per job title, applications, and more.
Available as a premium service with a 30-day trial, HireRabbit has plans that go from $9 per month up to $199 per month, with the more expensive plans offering features like custom branding, priority support, and advanced admin tools, among other things. (75 TechCrunch readers can use the coupon code “TC” to take 40% off any plan.)
The talent acquisition and hiring space is a crowded market for startups, with others like SortBox, The Resumator, Firefish Software, Jobvite, Ovation, and Sendouts (to name a few), all offering their own angle on how to make the process easier or more streamlined for businesses and applicants alike. But while HireRabbit may lack some of the more advanced features available on the market, its simplicity could actually be a selling point for businesses in need of a straightforward, push-button solution.
Based in Bangalore, HireRabbit was founded by Prafull Sharma and Pipalayn Nayak, who both previously worked at BiggerRole, IBM and Sterling Commerce. The company is bootstrapping from its current revenues, and is backed by Microsoft Accelerator.
