Forget Cyber Monday, Black Friday and Thanksgiving. Although these days have been breaking records for online and mobile shopping this holiday season, it looks like even individual, non-Holiday days are posting massive gains.
eBay Marketplaces enjoyed its biggest mobile shopping day this past Sunday, Dec. 2 and PayPal is reporting that its total global mobile payment volume on the same Sunday exceeded that of Cyber Monday by more than one million dollars . That makes Dec. 2 the biggest mobile shopping day in the history of PayPal.
eBay and PayPal both are still forecasting over $10 billion in mobile transactions and mobile payments volume, respectively, so it should be interesting to see if these numbers are exceeded thanks to these record breaking days.
And certainly, this year’s holiday shopping behavior could be a sign that Black Friday or Cyber Monday may not stay as the biggest shopping days as retailers extend promotions and more users flock to mobile devices.
