Inside The IBD 50: Leaders Bend, Mostly Don't Break
Stocks from the IBD 50 lineup mostly took a step back during the past week, as the major averages also retreated. The IBD 50 index fell 1.8%, while the Nasdaq lost 2%, the S&P 500 1.9% and the NYSE composite 1.5%. Worries about the fiscal cliff buffeted stocks throughout the holiday-shortened week, and the cliff remained the market's key concern late Friday. Despite the generally negative action, few leading stocks broke down during the past week.
