GCC Going Big and Long-Term on Renewable Energy
JOHANNESBURG--January 11, 2013--Written by Richard Finlayson, Senior International Editor for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries could benefit to the tune of $200 billion by renewable integration by 2030, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The region currently has 30 major projects in the planning stage, under construction or completed. IRENA says that such projects mark a trend in shifting demand for investment in renewable projects for developing countries.
