Stocks Surge As Data Fuel Optimism; CommVault Up 3%
Stocks bolted higher Friday, with most indexes hitting multiyear highs, as the market viewed the much-awaited jobs report in a friendly way. The Nasdaq jumped 1.2%, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 1.1% and the S&P 500 gained 1%. Volume climbed on the NYSE but dipped on the Nasdaq, according to preliminary data.
