Stocks Advance After Early Hesitation; 3D Jumps 5%
Stocks opened mixed Wednesday but quickly regained their balance and advanced. The Nasdaq slipped 0.2% at the open but reversed to a 0.6% gain. The S&P 500 added 0.3%, but the Dow Jones industrial average was essentially flat. Volume was running higher across the board.
