Futures Aim North On Jobs Data; U.S. Silica, Northern Tier Slide
Futures nosed higher after solid weekly jobless claims data and as European markets posted firm gains. Dow futures traded 21 points higher. Nasdaq 100 futures were ahead 11.25 points and S&P 500 futures climbed 3.75 points. The stock market today opens with the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P 500 all effectively flat for the week through Wednesday. The distribution day count crept higher on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq this week, but remains at very low levels, and
Nasdaq quotes delayed at least 15 minutes, all others at least 20 minutes.
