Quiet Session Ends With Nice Close; Alcoa Slips In After Hours
Stocks ended a ho-hum session with a bang Monday, finishing near session highs ahead of Alcoa's earnings report after the close. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 each rose 0.6% and the Dow lagged slightly, rising 0.3%. Preliminary data showed NYSE and Nasdaq volume coming in about 15-20% lower than Friday.
