New Highs Include Several Breakouts From Bases
Thursday's new highs included several breakouts, although some of them came in disappointing volume. United Rentals (URI) broke out of a base in heavy trading. Shares sailed above the 56.09 buy point but closed below that level, at 55.21 after a 76-cent gain. The heavy equipment rental company, part of the finance sector, sank back into an area of resistance around the 55-56 price level. SodaStream (SODA) rose 1.65, or 3%, to 54.06 as volume
