(DENVER POST) — LONGMONT — More than 200 people attended a candle-lit vigil Sunday night in Loomiller Park to show their support for Michelle Wilkins, who was seven months pregnant when she lost her fetus in a brutal attack last week.
Heather Surovik, 30, a Longmont woman who was more than eight months pregnant when she lost her son in an accident caused by a drunken driver, said she understands Wilkins' pain.
"I know what she's going through. I've been there. It's the hardest thing to go through," said Surovik, who helped organize the vigil.
"It's the worst feeling you can experience in your life."
