Stocks pared earlier gains, as investors grow more nervous every day with regard to the timing of the Federal Reserve decision to reduce bond purchases The Federal Open Market Committee Meeting begins tomorrow and an announcement is expected at 2pm on Wednesday. Heading into the last half hour of trading, the Dow was up just under half a percent, the S&P was up about a third of a percent, and the Nasdaq was up nearly three quarters of a percent.
