Ten-Year Yields End Week With 26-Basis-Point Surge
Treasury 10-year yields were set for their biggest weekly increase in almost two months as investors bet the Federal Reserve may reduce its debt-purchase program next month as the economic recovery strengthens. The difference between yields on five- and 10-year notes widened to almost the most in two years, suggesting investors are betting faster growth will lead to higher long-term borrowing rates.
