Stocks Mixed On Home Sales Data; Microsoft Gaps Up, Lifts Nasdaq
Stocks opened in narrowly mixed territory Friday as real estate-related sectors took a hard hit from weak July homes sales data. The Nasdaq led with a 0.2% gain, boosted by a gap-up open by Microsoft (MSFT). The S&P 500 slumped 0.2% and the Dow Jones industrial average shaved off 0.1%.
