After yesterday’s strong showing, the S&P 500 and the Dow were both down slightly at the end of closing on Thursday. The Nasdaq, on the other hand, was up, ending the day with a 3.81% gain. With earnings season just getting started, there should be a lot of dividend payout changes on their way. Today, five companies upped their quarterly payouts.
Consolidated Edison Raises Dividend 2.4%
Consolidated Edison (ED) upped its quarterly dividend to 63 cents, or $2.52 on an annualized basis. The company previously paid 61.5 cents quarterly, or $2.46 annually. The new dividend means that ED now yields 4.7%. The dividend is payable on March 15 to stockholders on record as of February 12. The stock goes ex-dividend on February 10.
Schlumberger Boosts Dividend 28%
Schlumberger Ltd. (SLB) gave a huge raise to its quarterly dividend today, bumping it to 40 cents from 31.25 cents. On an annualized basis the company will now pay $1.60 and yield 1.8%. The dividend is payable on April 1 to all shareholders on record as of February 19. The stock goes ex-dividend on February 14.
Cousins Properties Announces Large Dividend Raise
Cousins Properties (CUZ) raised its quarterly payout from 4.5 cents to 7.5 cents, a 66.7% increase. On an annualized basis, CUZ will now pay out 30 cents, and yield 2.8%.The dividend is payable on February 24 to all shareholders on record as of February 10. The stock goes ex-dividend on February 6.
Wisconsin Energy Raises Dividend 2%
Wisconsin Energy (WEC) made a modest change to its quarterly payout, raising it to 39 cents per share from 38.25 cents. The company will now pay out $1.56 annually and yield 3.8%. The dividend is payable on March 1 to all shareholders on record as of February 14. The stock goes ex-dividend on February 12.
Finish Line Boosts Payout 14.3%
Finish Line Inc. (FINL) announced a dividend raise of 14.3%, moving its quarterly payout from 7 cents to 8 cents. On an annualized basis FINL will now pay 32 cents, and the stock will yield 1.2%. The dividend is payable on March 17 to all shareholders on record as of February 28. The stock goes ex-dividend on February 26.
