Francoise Lanter Named Chief Financial Officer While Tan Siekmann Joins Company as Chief Technology Office Both Named to Qnective's Board of Directors
ZURICH, Switzerland, Jan. 8, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Qnective Inc. (OTCBB:QNTV) announced today that Francoise Lanter was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Director. In this position she will oversee Qnective, Inc.'s accounting, financing, budgeting, and financial planning activities. She will report directly to Oswald Ortiz, Qnective's CEO.
Until recently, Ms. Lanter served as Chief Financial Officer of Lawa International Holdings, a technology company operating in Switzerland. Throughout her career, she has held various positions in finance and administration with increasing responsibility, in which she has been tasked with budgeting, capital expenditure planning, financial reporting and consolidation according to IFRS regulations. In addition, Ms. Lanter brings experience with start-up companies, having owned and operated her own trust agency.
Oswald Ortiz said: "Qnective is entering a critical phase of its development, one which calls for the addition of seasoned and experienced executive talent. The addition of a financial professional such as Francoise will not only strengthen our financial operations and reporting, but will assist in establishing systems and procedures to insure regulatory compliance."
The company also announced the appointment of Tan Siekmann as Chief Technology Officer and Director. In his role, he will be responsible for product development and the rollout of technical infrastructure. He will also be responsible for securing patent protection for our proprietary intellectual property. He will report directly to Oswald Ortiz.
Mr. Siekmann is an Internet and IT pioneer with more than 20 years of experience founding and managing technology companies focused on IT security, medical laboratory software development, biometrics, and communication. His IT career began at the age of 16 when he founded Biodata GmbH in Germany to provide software emulation for laboratory systems. He later shifted Biodata's emphasis on networking, and, as a result of his developments, the company in 1988 was the first in the world to execute network signaling between computer stations. The company's product, BioNET, had a strong sales record for many years. The product was used to network ATARI computers -- the first systems using a Graphical User Interface; and at the time, ATARI systems were in wide use among enterprise clients requiring visual user interaction.
In 1996, Biodata successfully shifted its product strategy by moving aggressively into the security market. In Spring 1996, Mr. Siekmann presented the first ISDN encryption device and one of the first Firewall systems under the product name Babylon. Over the years, Biodata products found wide acceptance in the security arena and Babylon products are still successfully sold around the world.
"The basic technology underlying our Qporter encrypted VoIP product line is the brainchild of Tan and we are extremely proud to bring him on board. His creativity, technical execution and overall IT savvy are tough to match. Both Francoise and Tan will help us drive Qnective's growth at this stage in our development," stated Mr. Ortiz.
