Alstom Secures $166 Million Equipment Contract for Swiss Hydropower Project
GALWAY, IRELAND--May 11, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--French engineering major Alstom SA (EPA:ALO) (Levallois-Perret) has secured a $166 million contract to supply equipment for the variable speed pump storage plant at the Nant De Drance hydropower plant in Finaut in the southwestern Swiss canton of Valais. Under the contract, Alstom will undertake engineering and construction of four 170-megavolt-ampere vertical asynchronous generator systems, four 157-megawatt (MW) vertical type reversible Francis turbines, and other associated components.
