(THE HILL) -- One U.S. servicemember was killed and two others were injured in southern Afghanistan on Saturday in an apparent insider attack, NATO's Resolute Support mission said.
The two wounded servicemembers are being treated and are in stable condition, the mission said in a statement. An investigation into the attack is underway.
The identity of the servicemember killed on Saturday is being withheld until 24 hours after the individual's next of kin is notified.
