Democratic Party – new and improved?

On Nov. 13, I wrote about Hungarian financier George Soros' acquisition of the Democratic Party for $15 million in cash and $75 million in long-term debt. This week, the Soros' Democratic Party released its first campaign ad: Adolph Hitler morphing into President George W. Bush.

Have there been other outbreaks of the evil embodied by Adolph Hitler in our world? Absolutely. Stalin and Mao murdered between 30 to 60 million of their own citizens because those unfortunates disagreed with the dictators on how their respective countries should be run. One could argue that Saddam, who murdered Iraqis by the tens of thousands, with new mass graves being discovered as this is written, might qualify for this "honor."

But a democratically elected leader trying to protect his own citizens – including those who are part of the Soros political machine – from being blown to bits on their next airplane trip?

One of Mr. Soros' goals in buying the Democratic Party was to foster "civil society." Here's a quote from my Nov. 13 article: "But just what is Mr. Soros' goal in purchasing the Democratic Party? As he told David Korten, 'I shall not spell it [the mission for his foundation network] out here because it would interfere with my flexibility in carrying it out ... but I can state it in general terms: to foster the civil society component of the Open Society Alliance.'" ("Soros buys a donkey," Nov. 13, 2003).

There was a time in America – it was within my lifetime – when we had a choice about our vision for America. One could vote Democratic or Republican and still be an American. The two parties offered differing visions of what it meant to be an American.

That time is over. The rotting carcass of what was once the Democratic Party in America – now on life support from foreign billionaires and operating under cover of an assumed name – has finally exploded from the hot sun. Amid the stench, it has spewed anarchists, socialists, communists and foul-mouthed, ignorant celebrities on anyone unfortunate enough to be associated with it. The party bought the ethical amnesia and moral atheism epitomized by the Clinton era, and now seeks to impose it on America.

Ignorant of history, the left has sought to rewrite it. Confounded by the moral and demographic decay of their own welfare state, they offer neither pity nor hope for those trapped in its clutches, only a promise of more of the same. Mingled with the ashes of the left's fallen dreams, they seek to build America's future on anger, hatred and rage. And to those who disagree with their vision, they offer the alternative favored by dictators and despots the world over: the fiery ovens of Auschwitz and Treblinka, or the silent, frozen boxcars of Siberia.

To be an American is no longer to have a choice.
