WND's Jane Chastain
receives doctorate

WorldNetDaily exclusive columnist Jane Chastain has received an honorary doctorate from the California Pacific School of Theology.

Honored for her work on various public-policy issues, including advocacy for the unborn, Chastain received the degree at the school's commencement ceremony last Friday in Glendale, Calif. Cal-Pacific President Dr. Jack Dabner made the presentation.

Besides being a popular columnist at WND for several years, Chastain is host of the Judicial Watch Report on the USA Radio Network, which airs weekdays from 4-5 p.m. Eastern.

Chastain, who was this nation's first woman sportscaster, spent 17 years covering sports on television. She made the jump to national TV with "The Jane Chastain Show -- Everything You've Always Wanted to Know About Sports But Were Afraid to Ask," a series of 195 90-second vignettes which were inserted in local news programs in 88 of the nation's top television stations.

In 1974 CBS made her the first woman network sportscaster. She also has provided sports commentary and features for National Public Radio.

In 1987, after serving on the national board of Concerned Women for America, she turned her attention from sports to politics and wrote "I'd Speak Out on the Issues If Only I Knew What to Say" for Regal Books.

In 1991 her radio career began in earnest, providing commentary and hosting various programs nationwide. She has been an exclusive WorldNetDaily columnist since 1998.
