The reason for the treason

The far left is mad that 64 percent of Americans support Bush's eavesdropping.

So how do they respond? They launch two lawsuits in federal court seeking to end President Bush's electronic eavesdropping program, claiming it is illegal and exceeds his constitutional powers.

The lawsuits – one filed in New York by the Center for Constitutional Rights and the other in Detroit by the American Civil Liberties Union and other groups – say the program bypasses safeguards requiring court approval of electronic monitoring.

As usual, the left picked a cheerleader of the week to share his thoughts: Al Gore. "What we do know about that pervasive wiretapping virtually compels the conclusion that the president of the United States of America has been breaking the law repeatedly and consistently," stated Gore. Poor choice of a spokesperson considering what occurred during his vice presidency. But we all know by now hypocrisy is not at all a problem for the left.

Back in the 1990's, President Bill Clinton (with sidekick Al) used these same "illegal" searches on at least one American citizen, Aldridge Aims. Mr. Aims hadn't called al-Qaida or Hezbollah. In fact, he was an American on American soil. But he was selling secrets to our enemies. Clinton authorized the surveillance of Aims without a warrant. Thankfully he did. Aims now sits in a federal prison for the rest of his life so he can't hurt America any more.

But what's OK for the left is never OK for the right. In fact, even though they put someone in prison for selling secrets in the 1990's, they were all the while involved in exactly the same thing, Chinagate. There's that pesky hypocrisy again. During Bill Clinton's presidency, Clinton operatives sold technology to the Chinese for massive contributions. Just ask Johnny Chung who, on behalf of the Chinese government, made 12 personal or corporate donations to Clinton and the Democratic National Committee totaling $366,000. Thank you, Clinton and Chung, for helping China become a viable threat to the United States. Makes me wonder if the Aims surveillance and subsequent arrest was all just for show.

Hearing the ACLU and CCR are now suing our president to divulge what his activities were is right in line with the radical left's agenda. First, to convince all Americans that everything the right does to protect the country is wrong. And second, to create a socialist welfare state that sacrifices national security for personal "rights." I guess they believe it's about time they, the radical left, finish the fight to destroy the foundation of American freedom that they started many years ago. Why else would you want to tell your enemy who, what, where and when you discovered their secrets unless it's so they'll know next time what not to do.

Americans have a choice to make: Allow this foolishness to continue on slowly and painfully until our demise or to tell your elected officials you want them to put a stop to it immediately.

I'm not willing to allow lawyers representing the radical left "freedom fighters" to gamble with our national security like we did in Vietnam, Gulf War I and now in Iraq.

In the shadow of 9-11, perhaps we should reconsider internment camps again for anyone compelling Americans to divulge sensitive NSA or other military secrets for the public record, which also will be widely read by our enemy, as Osama bin Laden proved last week. Then, after terrorism is finally defeated we can allow the internees back into society.

Perhaps during that time, we can begin to repair the damage the far left has done upon a country which once had confidence in its leaders, its laws and most importantly it desire and will to survive.
