BRAVE NEW SCHOOLS Hundreds rally to threaten Gov. Arnold with 'veto' Family supporters urge Schwarzenegger to halt sexual indoctrination Posted: September 05, 2006 5:00 pm Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily.com
Hundreds of people of black, white, Latino, Asian and Slavic heritages rallied on Tuesday in front of the California Capitol to urge Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to veto a series of "sexual indoctrination" bills awaiting his decision. The protest rally was organized by the Campaign for Children and Families and President Randy Thomasson told WorldNetDaily many protesters went into the statehouse following the rally to further register their opposition to the Legislature's plans. The crowd vowed to "veto" the governor, if he doesn't veto the proposals, Thomasson said.
"Gov. Arnold is feeling the anger of the pro-family community," Thomasson told WND. "He cannot be re-elected by turning off conservatives, Christians and Republicans statewide. It's a losing formula." The CCF noted that at stake are the "hearts and minds" of 6.5 million schoolchildren in the state. "(The bills) will turn California schools into sexual indoctrination centers that mess with children's minds behind their parents' backs," Thomasson said in directing his message to the governor. "Governor, unless you veto these bad bills, the people will veto you," he said. The bills would force California public schools to change curricula (SB1437) and policies (AB606) to promote transsexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality to children as young as kindergarten without their parents' permission. AB1056 also would spend $250,000 to turn 10 schools into "sexual indoctrination centers," officials said. The governor already has signed one bill that will require private schools including Christian colleges and others to promote homosexuality if any of their students receive state grants. It requires "any program or activity that … receives any financial assistance from the state" to support and promote both "gender identity" and "sexual orientation" issues. Thomasson said that "tramples the religious values of faith-based institutions." "The Christian colleges are very afraid," Thomasson said. "They are huddling together talking about a plan of action." He said it is expected to be a difficult road to challenge the state law, because it sets religious freedom against a state "discrimination" regulation. Details are the program are at the campaign's website. Charles B. Lowers, of Considering Homeschool earlier told WND in an interview that what should happen is that Christian parents should just start homeschooling. There would be "panic in the streets," he said. "Instead of the traditional three R's in California's public schools, children are learning Rebelliousness, Relativism, and an R-rated lifestyle," he said.
